Follower Mark has the Bears at 5-11. He is probably not far off
I am picking them to go 6-10. Hopefully then they will hire a real head coach. A coach with a personality and some want-to would be a change. Lovie couldn’t light a fire under this team with gasoline and a Bic.
Tomorrow is the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks that killed 2,977 people plus, thank God, the 19 hijackers. Although the vast majority of those killed were Americans and civilians, not all were. Over 70 countries had citizens killed that day. Military personnel were killed, many at the Pentagon.
I will always remember where I was. It is a memory similar to when JFK was assassinated. I was not alive for Pearl Harbor but I think that is a similar memory for those that were alive. We should never forget. We do not have to be vengeful but we also should not be forgetful.
It appears the United States government used the bully pulpit to be-little, demean and embarrass Rev. Terry Jones into cancelling his planned ceremony to burn the Koran. A little lying and deceit was also employed. The little preacher from rural Florida, who was doubling as a lightning rod has put his tail between his legs and headed to the swamp to lick his wounds. He claims he was told the Mosque in Manhattan would be relocated if he would cancel the Koran burn. After he announced the cancellation, the Imam in New York said there was no deal to move the Mosque. Who do you believe?
OPERATION DARK HEART is the name of a new book written by a former military man who served in the current wars. His book is not liked by the military powers. Our military plans on purchasing the 10,000 copies of the first print and have them destroyed. I am not sure if they will be burned, shredded or how they will be destroyed. Why can the military pressure a civilian to cancel an event where books are to be destroyed and the next day plan an event where the military will destroy 10,00 books? As I mentioned above, tomorrow is the ninth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. I have written a short story about our reaction to 9/11. This is a piece of fiction. It is not a political statement and does not necessarily express my views on the subject. I am likely going o stretch this work into a novel. For now, however, only a short story exists. The remainder of the novel is in an outline and character biographies. Tomorrow I am going to post the short story on this blog. I hope you enjoy reading it.
